Broken Car.

Posted on June 12, 2004 by jaypoc

I really need to bring my car in now….

Last night the button for my window burnt out. I actually saw smoke come up from the button right before it stopped working. Now my window is stuck open…. On top of that….

1. Time for an Oil Change
2. Need to replace one Headlight
3. Need to replace one fog light
4. Wiper Blade needs to be tightened
5. Wheel Hub Sensor needs replacement (dealer part)
6. Brakes need to be checked

That’s gonna cost me some $$$

I take PayPal if anybody wants to help out 🙂

Fun times

Posted on June 12, 2004 by jaypoc

Ive been having such a blast lately…. Meeting new people, hanging with old friends, going out and having fun!

The other night I met Janice…A girl who had added me to her buddy list because she saw me on a website….and almost immediately forgot about me 😉 So of course, I have that IM conversation that begins with, “Hi. You’re on my buddy list. Who are you”….The funniest thing was, Her screen name is only a few letters off from one of my friends.so I thought it was her. lol…. Anyways we hung out, checked out doggies, and tried to go photo-opping at ikea, but the batteries died in my camera. Damnit. lol!

Last nigtht was awesome too! My friend Laura (who threw the Middle-Eastern party came out the lawn guyland for the evening… We went to one of the restaurants on the Nautical Mile in freeport for dinner and then headed out to Dave & Busters where we met up with Jen, Charlie, Eric and Bish… My game, was actually slightly broken which made it EXTREMELY easy to win…. Normally I’ll win between 500 and 1000 tickets in one night,, but last night I won 3000 tickets, so I bought a full set of beer glasses….6 of em… got 1 for Laura too. Was gonna get her 2, but she only wanted one….self service?

Dell Tales

Posted on June 9, 2004 by jaypoc

You could create an entire website dedicated to the stupidity of the Dell support staff…

I called up to get replacement rubber feet for my Laptop. The parts probably cost DELL a total of $.03 for a full set of 5. The tech asked, how many fell off my machine. I say 4. He asks which ones (why? They’re all the same) and I tell him, but ask if he can send me a full set of 5 so I have an extra. He says, No, he can only send me the ones that are missing.

Trying not to laugh hysterically, I inform him that all 5 fell off, but I found one and stuck it on myself. It may fall off again. He they acknowledges me by offering to send all 5.

What the fuck is that?

I have Complete Care on this Laptop. If I call and say the monitor is split into 47 pieces they will send me another. If I say a car ran over the laptop, they will send me another. If I say I was bored and tossed the laptop off of the observation deck of the Empire State Building, they will ask if anyone got hurt, and then SEND ME ANOTHER LAPTOP.

BUT…. If I ask for 5 rubber feet. The little stickers that go on the bottom of the laptop and prevent it from sliding around (and provide support for the system) they can’t send them…UNLESS THEY’VE ALREADY FALLEN OUT!

When my motherboard goes… because the system was improperly supported and it caused the board to flex, they’ll happily send me a new motherboard…. GOOD! Let that happen. The company could save thousands of dollars, by simply sednding 5 extra rubber feet. But noooooooooo.

I may call Dell once a week, and get as many rubber feet as I can, and I will freely distribute them to anybody who needs them for only the cost of the shipping! If you live near me, I’ll deliver them free of charge.

Caffeine Fest 2004

Posted on June 8, 2004 by jaypoc

Tonight was a lot of fun. Dunkin’ Donuts had a promotion that from 10AM to 10PM they were giving away FREE iced coffees. So and myself started around 8:00 and spent the next hour and a half hitting every Dunkin Donuts from Deer Park to Wantagh…. We hit 2 on DPA, went down to Montauk Highway/Merrick Road and hit every D&D along there all the way to the Bellmore Donuts (THE Donuts!) where we headed north. Stopped at the donuts by the wantagh train station and headed up Wantagh Ave. to the dunkin’ donuts there… That was #8…. 16 cups of coffee… Between the 2 of us, we drank 6 cups of coffee. We brought the rest to WLVAC (Wantagh Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corp) where they finished off the rest of the coffees….

Had fun, drank TONS of coffee, and fulfilled my good deed for the week 😉

Until next time!

Oh, we took pictures of the coffees at each stop. Check out my Moblog to see the pics.
