A friend of mine emailed me about a petition being put together to support the 11 people who died during last years Staten Island ferry crash. His cousin’s fiance’s first cousin was among those 11 people. Their families are protesting the decision to put the ferry back in service. If you’d like to help support their cause, go ahead and sign this petition

Fellow techies, We’ve all had THIS customer:

Your customer has computer problems so he cant use your service. Rather than refer him out to a PC repair shop (which is normal practice as you’re not a PC hardware/OS tech!) you offer to assist him in installing new hardware if he goes out and gets it. You offer to pay him back for the hardware and in addition, give him additional money back for the inconvenience….

… and he still has the nerve to yell at you that the customer service sucks and that I should be doing something for “the customer”

The 4th was kinda bummin’ this year. Last night was cool. I worked the fireworks show at Point Lookout. Had a front row view of the fireworks show and got some great pictures of the event. (See below)

Tonight I BBQ’d with the family.. Just me mom and dad…. My cousing came over as I headed out to meet up with some friends and try to catch some more photos of the fireworks… Got kicked out of the first location I found to watch the fireworks in Eisenhower park (The top of the Source Mall parking lot)… Wound up on the parking garage at Roosevelt Field mall, but it wasn’t much better. Plus, there is a building that blocks the view of the park…. In fact, the park was directly behind this building and down a hill so we got just a small taste of the fireworks that went off there. I gave up at that point. Next year, I’d like to get to Jones Beach early and hang there all day. We did that a few years back and the show looks AWESOME when you’re that close…

So after Mini golf, I went to the diner with Jen and Charlie…. They’re hysterical. It seems whenever we go out to eat and have a female waitress, they tend to try to hook me up…

It also seems that these same nights are ones when I did not shave and just tossed on jeans and a T-shirt to go hang out.

Of course the napkin with my website, both phone numbers and the phrase, “You know you wanna cuz it’s cool!” is more likely to get me a call from the Police than the waitress 🙂

Who knows. She was cute. lol
