Just got back from the Poison concert! Great show…

Tracey had gotten passes to go backstage (yes I’m EXTREMELY jealous) with a friend of hers, and of course, she couldn’t get me a pass, so my only option was to go and hang out alone the whole show while she was backstage….

Fortunately for me, my boss at Island 94.3, one of the radio stations I work for was able to hook me up. I got 2 passes and went with my friend Matt…….

The show was great, but I can’t help feel a sense of disappointment, not with Poison, but with Tracey.

I don’t know if I am just jealous of Tracey for going backstage, something I’ve wanted to do my whole life, or if I feel neglected by going to the concert, with her spending most of the time backstage (which I shouldn’t feel cuz I only went cuz she was and I knew then that she was going to be backstage with her friend)…. I know I feel a bit left out because after talking to her on the phone now, she told me that her and her friend were going to go see the show in NJ next weekend without even a mention of inviting me….. I always of saw the 80’s rock bands as something we had in common, granted, something she was way more into that me, but something we could share but I kind of feel more like I’m sticking myself in her business or just trying to associate myself with something she likes and wants to do on her own, when I just want to be able to share this experience with someone I love.

The reason I haven’t gone to many concerts is because I didn’t have someone like this or even a group of people like this anymore. I always love going to clubs/concerts but when the people that were closest to me stopped going, so did I. I always went when I had a girlfriend or a close group of friends who were into it but rarely enjoy these things alone. Maybe because I’m shy socally and find it difficult to speak with or get along with general fans of the venue I’m attending…..

I guess I kind of feel cheated that I don’t have someone to share most of the things I love most with.

Just my thoughts tonight….

Hmm Should add that I went to the INXS and Simple Minds concert the other night at Jones Beach… Was great although it rained…. We were soaked! It was a lot of fun though and i got to meet some of my girlfriend’s friends for once 🙂 It seems lately she’s always meeting and hanging out with me and mine 🙂

I had this great idea for a potential LARP weapon (That’s Live Action Role Playing for those of you who don’t know)…

Get one of those $20 ($16.99 on Ebay actually..hehe) small crossbows and use a dowel and make a large foam tip for it…..

I thought it was a good plan until I got the crossbow and fired a metal-tipped arrow at the wall….. BAM! Stuck half-way in! Pulling it out the tip fell off, so I shot an all plastic dart..BAM! Same deal! (WHAT THE FUCK!) Yes, The plastic non-tip (a flat plastic dowel) flew just as far into the wall as the steel-pointed dart did…. Maybe if I make the dart really heavy, it’ll be good enough… or get a longer string than is supposed to be on the crossbow… either way, I need to weaken that bow if I’m to use it for gaming!

Clash of the Hondas!

Just saw the aftermath of a nasty accident here on my own street. Seems 2 Hondas, a Civic and an Accord were both flyin’ around the back roads when they met at a devastating end… The Accord, apparently stock must have flown around the corner without looking while the Civic (looking like some real money was sunk into it.. at least for new interior paneling, rims, tires and a coffee can exhaust) blasted down my block. the two hit, corner-to-corner… a foot or two more and it would have been a head-on collision. One guy (the Accord) went to the hospital while the other guy seemed okay, with one of his passengers going to the hospital only because she hit her head….

This reminds me of what happened the other day…..

I was coming home from work when a Mustang 5.0 with two girls in it ahead of me was “showing off” quite a bit….. Now, you all know I have the GTP Grand Prix.. Pontiac’s supercharged beast, so I felt I could keep up. Traffic was pretty heavy, but there was enough room to nudge…. I didn’t go crazy or anything but as the Mustang accelerated, so did I keeping a steady (yet safe) distance between us…. I pulled next to the Mustang and there was a bit of back and forth play…. Just then the mustang let it all loose and jumped in front of me, cutting me off and started to fly down the lane… Only problem was that there was a car in front of me as well…. Slamming on the breaks, I saw smoke come from below the mustang…. I was expecting a loud clang next so I eased onto my breaks and started looking for an alternate route (around the mustang…probably onto the shoulder of the road)…. Fortunately there was enough room as the mustang cut off the car in the center lane (at the last second!) and continued on in the middle lane. I got off at the next exit rather than pursue a potential street race. I’m all for competition, but when your opponent shows that much ignorance and in-attentiveness, you back off. They could wind up killing me, an innocent bystander, or themselves… I do hope they learned an important lesson that time though…

You’re already taking a big risk just driving like that. If you don’t pay attention to everything around you and know when it’s safe to drive “Just a little faster”, then you’re gonna wind up in trouble… or worse….
