I finally got my Air Conditioner in! Just in time!
WOW Was I wrong….Dell Sucks!
Ordering from them is EASY, however if you have a problem, good luck returning stuff to them!!!!I’ve been trying to get authorization to return defective and incorrect merchandise to them, but they keep giving me a runaround, telling me they sent paperwork and emails which never show up and not returning phone calls.
Plus, nobody has a direct number or extension. and nobody knows what other departments are doing. One division can authorize return of the Axim, but another has to approve the return of a defective case. Seeing that the case damaged the Axim, I have to deal with several people to get this stuff sent back.
If anybody recommends another PocketPC device that has both CompactFlash and Secure Digital and is comparable to the Dell, let me know and I just might send it all back to Dell and tell them to go fuck themselves.
It’s a shame to think that I’ve sent Dell so much business too (I’ve recommended SEVERAL friends and family to Dell as well as a few businesses!)
Dell Does have good customer support!
While heading to my car after work, the case for my Dell Axim flipped upside down and the unit fell out and went tumbling through the parking lot. The unit still worked perfectly (Thank god!) but there’s a nasty scratch on the casing of the unit. Not acceptable. Why else did I spend all this money on a case to protect it!
So, I called Dell expecting a fight… after all, The no-frills replacement program isn’t available in New York (Go figure!) so I had to stick with the basic warranty which I was pretty sure wouldn’t cover cosmetic features of the dell. Maybe I was wrong, or maybe Dell just stands by their products cuz they’re issuing me an RMA for the crappy case and the Axim itself and sending me a whole new Axim X5.
I also ordered a different case which I sincerely hope is better than the POS I have now. (This one uses magnetic clasps that dont hold and a swivel belt-clip which leave the Dell very succeptable to flipping right out of the case.
I was quite upset about the Axim (only a week old) being damaged, but I’m relieved that Dell is doing the right thing…. I’ll definitely stand behind dell as I have in the past.
Now, If I could just get them to consolodate their call centers so I dont need to call 3 different numbers for returns, support and sales 🙂
DUDE! I’m getting a Dell!
That is a Dell Axim X5 hand-held PDA with the 802.11 WiFi Card!
I have to say that if you EVER order a Dell, call them in person. You can often get much better deals than they offer on the website.
