Got a new lens for my camera for Chanukah… Got the Canon 75mm – 300mm F3.5-5.6 IS USM lens… It’s pretty neat how the Image Stabalizer works. I have yet to get out to really play with it. I will try to utilize it this weekend if I get scheduled at the radio station, or while I’m upstate visiting Dave.
Friday, I have to try to do some holiday shopping…Yes, Chanukah started yesterday and the only present I had was my brother’s and thats only because it was a joint present bewteen me and my parents…I built him a pc. It’s a pretty sweet system considering it cost under $500
Athlon XP 2600, 512 MB DDR Ram, 128 MB nVidia GeForce MX 4000 Graphics, 80 GB SATA HDD, 2x Firewire Ports, 6x USB Ports Dual NICs, Dolby Surround Sound, Dual Layer DVD Burner… Not bad for under $500. The same system (or one comparable) would go for about $1000 in stores.
I even spent a few extra bucks and got some neon accent lighting (complimented by the large window on the side of the case.
Anyways… I need to do some shopping this weekend. Anyone have any ideas on what I can get my parents?
I never knew you were Jewish. Happy Hanuakah! I think we are going to celebrate Little Christmas this year & not the real Christmas.
Can I ask you a Hanuakah/Jewish question without any disrespect? Hanuakah is the celebration of taking back the temple when the Greeks outlawed like everything Jewish. The temple that they cleaned up & rededicated only had enough oil for 1 night but it lasted 8 & that is Hanuakah, but what happened after the 8th night? What happens next? When did Hanuakah happen? I am assuming this was after the 10 commandments? But was it before or after Christmas? I only know religion from the TV movies unfortunately. When I ask, the priests/rabbis jsut look dazed at me.
You’re asking the wrong person. Since a young age I was always forced into religion against my will. Rather than me learning it through my family’s observation of it, I was forced to attend Hebrew School and learn it that way. Now, Those who know me know that I love to learn about stuff, but put me in a school environment and I only perform well in areas that I am already interested in.
I was the only person I know who got kicked out of Hebrew Kindergarten, because of my blatant hatred for the place and eventually was kicked out of the school altogether. Twice… Went to another school and despite my efforts, I could only get kicked out of class, but not the school altogether.
Anyways, My bar-mitzvah was one of the greatest days of my life. For some, it was the cellebration of manhood. For me, it was the cellebration for the end of Hebrew School.
I have learned a bit about the religion since, but I consider myself mostly agnostic, and don’t know as much about it as I could (and probably should). I observe some holidays for my family and as I was brought up to but thats about the extent of my religious beliefs.
