Enough of the camera BS for now….. Last night was great! My boss from KJOY took a bunch of us from the crew on a Booze Cruise around Manhattan! We had a great time drinking and just hanging out. Had quite a bit to drink (either 3 or 4 Red Devils and a Kamakaze) so this morning was rough considering I had to work a fair for the station. But all went well!

Okay, so after all that BS with the camera, I got a defective camera! (go figure. lol)…..So, I called Sprint and they tried a few things then assured me the camera was bad and to bring it back to the retailer.

Fortunately, the place had one left in stock! The new phone works great and as soon as the internet service is transferred to the new phone I’ll upload some pictures

Another Reason To Ban Sprint PCS:

I finally got my phone, and I saved $50…

Left work and headed to the Sprint store to pick up a Sanyo SCP-5300 camera phone… I got there and waited on line for an hour… I asked for the phone and the guy there down-right refused to sell it to me. I had to have it activated there on the spot… Now after what I went through before, the last thing I wanted was some salesguy playing with my phone before me! Rather than being polite and apologizing to me, he was snotty and rude, so I got his DM’s name and the number for corporate (which all he gave me was Sprint PCS Customer Service)…. The operator thought the whole situation was weird and tried to talk the manager into selling it to me, but he still refused, and only being able to send me the phone in 3 to 5 days, I thanked her, filed a complaint against the store, and hung up. At least she tried to help!

I headed to a few retil stores that had Sprint. Spoke with a Thomas in Best Buy… This guy rocks… he actually called one of his vendors trying to track down the phone for me. Unfortunately Sprint stopped distributing this phone to retail outlets so I had to find someone with one in-stock. He did point me towards PC Richards who I didn’t even know sold SprintPCS…

Thank god they did! I called up the store around the block from my house to see if they had it, and sure enough, they did! I flew over there and on the counter, for me, was a box… a sprint phone… the Sanyo 8100.. AAAAAAAAARRRRGGHHHH

Well, Was just an accident.. Grabbed the wrong box 🙂 They had it… AND it was $50 cheaper than the Sprint Store or Radio Shack wanted for it!

So, The phone’s charging… Maybe I’ll post some pics from it.. After all, for now it’s now my only digital camera…. Well, I have that cheap POS camera somewhere, but I never liked it. ‘least the phone has a preview mode so I can see the pic and know whether or not it came out!

Lack of Integrity

Posted on September 10, 2003 by jaypoc

Interesting situation at Radio Shack just now.

I called to see if they had the Sanyo 5300 cellphone in stock. I specifically asked if it was a new phone. I was assured that it was, so I headed over there to get it.

The phone was missing most of the packaging and had fingerprints on the screen.

They offered me a lame 10% off after admitting that it was a demonstration model. I said no, and they offered to get a new phone.

I accepted the offer and showed up later to check the “new” phone. The serial # on the box was different, the packaging seemed to all be there, but the bag the phone’s body came in had a hole indicating that the phone had been removed. When i commented they said that it was opened to check the phone, but for all I Know, this could have been the phone they tried to give me prior.

So, I walked out without a phone. Is it really worth losing a $300 sale to lie to your customers?

While making arrangements to p/u the “new” phone, they asked me to pay in advance. Thank god I said no.
