The solution to the “worlds hardest riddle”

Posted on April 16, 2006 by jaypoc

Lets start with the riddle itself:
—
I turn polar bears white
and I will make you cry.
I make guys have to pee
and girls comb their hair.
I make celebrities look stupid
and normal people look like celebrities.
I turn pancakes brown
and make your champane bubble.
If you sqeeze me, I’ll pop.
If you look at me, you’ll pop.
Can you guess the riddle?

97% of Harvard graduates can not figure this riddle out, but 84% of kindergarten students were able to figure this out in 6 minutes or less. Can you guess the correct answer? Just repost this bulletin with the title “The World’s Hardest Riddle”, and then check your inbox. You’ll get a message with the correct answer in it. Good luck
—

I googled this to find the answer, and must to my dissapointment, nobody seems to know the definitive answer. Some peopel say water, some people say god, some people said pressure (I like this one), but I don’t actually believe any of those are the answer.

Now, it says that Kindergarten students were able to figure it out in 6 minutes or less… I thought about the attention span of a kindergartener… about 5 or 6 minutes maybe… and came up with and answer that is supported by the closing paragraph.

After 6 minutes, a kid would get frustrated and say that “Nothing can do all that”. The closing paragraph states that I’ll get an email with the correct answer in it, but nothing is going to appear in my inbox.

The answer is “Nothing.”

There have been other riddles about “Nothing” using the same claim.

—
The word has seven letters…
Preceded God…
Greater than God…
More Evil than the devil…
All poor people have it…
Wealthy people need it…
If you eat it, you will die
—

I have seen variations on this one as well.

Happy Hour @ Club Jaypoc

Ladies Drink Free all night long! Big Screen TV! Kitchen is open all night!

I ordered a bar from Gothic Cabinet Craft. It will be here sometime tomorrow. I picked up a pair of barstools from Target with cusions that actually match the couch. All I need now is some lighting and to decide how to decorate the bar area.

Total Control Freak!

Posted on April 14, 2006 by jaypoc

The past few days were spent programming TV remotes!!! Who would have ever thought that it could be so difficult.

First, I ordered a second universal remote for the living room. I had used this remote for a long time at my parents house and it controlled everything I owned. It worked great, only I had some difficulty programming my DVR/Cable Box combo that I got from Cablevision. I went online and ordered a better remote with learning capabilities.

Playing around at the website, I realized that I could call OFA and they could update my remote over the phone, so after a 5 minute call, I got the original remote working. Figures, right?

So the new remote came in and it’s awesome! Aside from controlling my stereo and cablebox, it learns from other remotes. so I programmed it to work my projector too. Now, I only need one remote to work ALL the electronics in my house… Including my bedroom..

In case you want a cool remote, I recommend the following:

All in One URC-6131 (6-device, TiVo function buttons, $10)
All in One URC-6960 (Kameleon, 6-Device, Learning-able, $34)
