Dead Bum Island

Posted on March 8, 2004 by jaypoc

Last night was a blast! We placed another Geocache. This time, a very difficult one…

Charlie called me in the afternoon. He was headed to the park to take a trip out to “Dead Bum Island”. It’s named that because fo all he knew, he’d get there and find a dead bum!
Well, I start on my way down there and he calls me saying that there was a piece of duct tape covering a hole in the raft. I met him at the boating store where we picked up another raft. We inflated it at the store, and tossed it in the back of Charlie’s Jeep. We realized that the raft was only big enough for one of us to take across, so I was going to go first. We had enough time for me to push out about 5 feet and take a picture when we realized that the raft was deflating. Inspection found a hole in the bottom. Sheesh! So we went back to the boating store. This time, we upgraded. We got the heavier-duty and larger raft. It was perfect. We inflated it and set off to Dead Bum Island!

We quickly found a place to dock on DBI. Laying in the water was a backpack… It is now part of our inventory… We got out of the raft and pulled it to shore. Interestingly enough, there were remains from a campfire there. and a few signs of civilization such as a pillow (or something like one) stuffed onto some tree branches.

We found a place to place our cache and headed back.

It was a really cool experience boating across this small lake to a remote island. Next trip, we camp there overnight!

There’s a new season of television on and I’m taking the world by the remote control!

Mad Mad House – Pretty good. The ‘odds’ seem more like actors than legitimate people with such beliefs. Then again, they could just be playing things up for television. It remains to be seen. I took out a Season Pass for this one.

Tripping the Rift – This highly anticipated series has taken me! I season passed this one right away! Chode and Gus (Chode’s slave robot) go back in time, accidentally killing god and return to a world where there is no evil… Well, where there WAS no evil. Great humor. Good animation and lots of inappropriate fun! I’m all over this one.

Scare Tactics – Shannon Doherty is back with more gut wrenching fun! Only I think the show may be a bit burnt out. Either that or I was too tired to really appreciate it. Granted, I’m exhausted and nearly fell asleep. I don’t know if it was due to my exhaustion or boredom with the show. I’ll give it another chance later on, but this season pass just might get passed on.

Seems that my viewing habits aren’t straying far from the Sci Fi channel…Still have Stargate SG-1 on the list… along with Charmed on the WB!

Just got back from Jillians. Played some Pump it Up and a bunch of ticket-winning-games…

I feel taller. More solid. It’s because I got a new matress today. It’s amazing how good it feels to sit on a new mattress. It’s firm, yet soft. It’s also amazing how much lighter this one is compared to my old mattress (which is probably around 10 years old!)

It’s a small world!

Posted on March 3, 2004 by jaypoc

It’s a small world!… I was at Dunkin’ Donuts with my friend Marisa. We were just hangin’ out when this guy comes in… Marisa recognized him from H.S. and he came over to say hi. Marisa and I didnt go to the same school, but as her friend started to speak I recognised him as someone I had met only a few times. He was a friend of my ex’s… The funny thing is, I looked familiar to both him AND his girfriend (who was from Queens!)

Of course, she thought I was some guy named Josh…. He thought I was me, but wasn’t sure….

Then on their way out, They ran into ANOTHER guy he knew….

How random! It’s a small world!
