It’s bee 3 months at my new job. I have been working for a temp agency and it has finally paid off. The job has offered me a permanent position with in the company and I will be continuing in my current position for better benefits and pay. It’s a great step for me, as I have had to take major pay cuts since I left the Internet Service Provider back at the end of 2001.

Road Head Anyone?
I feel like such a fool right now. I just got back in from my friend’s party…Only, I was at the wrong place, so I never actually made it to the party. She won a party at Jillians, now, for those of you who live in the area, Farmingdale is closer to me, and in my opinion, a better Jillians (It has Dance Dance Revolution while the Westbury Jillians has only Pump it Up!)
I tried to call my friend when I got there but she didn’t answer, so I decided to play some DDR… As I stepped off the machine, my phone rang, now note that I waited for the game and played 4 rounds, so about a half hour had gone by. I had only planned on staying an hour or so because I have work early and still have a pile of crap on my bed (I’ve been cleaning. woohoo)
So anyways, Jen, I’m terribly sorry and I will make it up to you! 😉
Speaking of Best Buy
Thier phone system rings… and rings…. and rings………..
I think I was holding for 10 minutes before someone actually answered. At least Circuit City’s phone system asks you if you want to keep trying or try a different extension after a minute of ringing. If I want to try a different department now, I have to hang up and call again.
EksEm
There is a computer on this planet which contains vital information. This computer contains critical information regarding the wherabouts of a particular product that I am looking for. It says where this product will be and at what time it will be there.
What I would like to know is who has access to this computer?
I have been trying for a few days now to locate the Roady2 XM Satellite Radio Reciever. This product is extremely popular and extremely difficult to find. I have called every Best Buy and Circuit City in the area and none of them have it in stock. They claimed a shipment may be coming in today, but they have not recieved the radios yet.
When I call XM, they are quick to give me a list of dealers, but can not verify stock. They have not told me that there are no more Roady2 radios being sent out, but on the other hand, nobody seems to have them in stock. Where do I go from here? I wanted to get the radio by this weekend.
With all the computerization and technology these companies use, you would think someone would be able to tell me, “Best Buy in west bumblefuck will be recieving 4 units by the end of the day” so I could at least get down there the next day once they make their way to the shelves!
An end to spam?
I’ve made the switch from Microsoft’s Outlook Express to the all new Microsoft Outlook 2003 and I have to say I am impressed. Aside from the shazzy looking UI, they’ve improved Outlook quite a bit since the last version.
First of all, the filters work, and they’re a lot faster than they were in Outlook 2002… I had many problems when experimenting with Outlook 2002 because I could check mail 100 times faster with Outlook Express, but the 2003 version run smoothly and quickly.
Another great feature of Outlook 2003 is it’s spam filtering. As someone who gets about 994 pieces of spam per day and about 6 real emails, it’s been critical that I find a solution to filter spam as it reaches my inbox. I’ve played with just about every spam filter out there and have found one, SpamKiller, that I like. Combined with Outlooks built in spam filtering I have tremendous control over what makes it into my mailbox and what gets deleted. Plus it’s easier to delete the spam now than it was in Outlook Express.
I’ll run it for a while and see how it works out, but so far, I’m loving it.
