Just an update

Posted on November 13, 2004 by jaypoc

Okay! It’s bee a while and not much new has been happening.

I’m settling into my new hours at work well. For those of you who miss me, I do spologize, but working nights I can’t answer my phone or get back to you right away. Let me know if I can call you back around 11:30 PM (when I get out of work). Otherwise, It’s great to not have to worry about getting home by 9PM on Saturday nights!

I’m almost done repairing my server. All thats left is to do some configurations and to rebuild my databases. It will take some time, but I should be ready to return the server to the hosting company by this weekend. I may relocate to a local hosting provider, but we’ll see… ‘least my site will be back up soon.

Sorry, A bit of geek-talk

Posted on November 13, 2004 by jaypoc

Well, my website…correction, ALL of my websites are down. I havent lost the data yet, but the server that hosted them all is screwed up. I have to rebuild the thing from scratch now. Wish me luck…

Another problem, The server won’t recognise the 60 GB drive I got so I need to do some massive maintenance on it. I might even just trash my 20GB desktop PC to swap the drives and I’ll use the 60 GB for network storage at my house…

I’ll troubleshoot the server a bit more tomorrow, and if I can’t get it up and running with in a reasonable amount of time I’ll swap drives with my desktop. Hell, I havent installed anything other than Mozilla and AIM on it yet so I might as well. Maybe even install a server OS on it and make a domain controller/file server out of it. I’ve been dying to try out Windows Server 2003 anyways 🙂

Now, just deciding between Redhat 9, Fedora 3 or Free BSD for the server itself… Any suggestions?

In the beginning… There was Dave and Busters

Posted on November 7, 2004 by jaypoc

Tonight was my first saturday night out past 11:00! Hell, It’s my first saturday night out past 8:00 lately! It’s great having my weekends back. I decided not to go too crazy since it’s my first night to adjust to my new schedule.

Dave and Busters is a great place 🙂 For $20 I can roam around and play games for hours and at the end of the night, come home with 2 more D&B glasses for our kitchen (Yes, It’s sad, but these glasses are great. We’re considering looking for them of the un-branded variety) and a Dektop water cooler…Well, It doesn’t cool the water, but it stores 8 glasses of water so that I don’t have to keep getting up to go to the water cooler.

A real day off!

Posted on November 5, 2004 by jaypoc

I finally have a day to myself. No Cablevision. No Radio Promotions. No Plans…. Just a day to relax and enjoy! It’s also a beautiful day! I might clean/wash my car… I might go checking out photography gear… I might just sleep in allllll day! Not get out of bed! 🙂

Plus, I have an extended weekend. I don’t have to wake up at a horribly early hour on Sunday to go to work I’m changing shifts, so I’ll be working from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM…. Those of you who like hanging out during the week are going to miss me, however I will be able to actually hang out past 9 on Saturday nights 🙂 I’m still working Sun – Thu, but with a night shift I wont lose my weekends as I do now.

I just need to find those of you who are available to hang out late nights (after midnight!)…

Who did YOU vote for?

Posted on November 2, 2004 by jaypoc

Am I the only one who brought a sharpie into the voting booth and voted for Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich in this election?
