I almost forgot…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Okay, so it’s been a few days (almost a week)… I’ve been Pretty busy… New Years eve was a blast but left me exhausted. I threw a last minute NYE bash. I was up early friday to build a screen for my projector so that during the party we could watch the ball drop and play trivia pursuit DVD edition on a 6 foot screen. As always, the alcohol was flowing and we cooked up some chicken, steaks and hot dogs. There’s nothing like a late night BBQ and some good friends. ‘m just back from the radio station’s holiday party! I’ve been part of the company for almost 10 years now and this is the first year that I was invited to the company party. Kudos to whoever realized that the crew (the public face of the station) should be included in the festivities.

I have only one gripe that the GM had a huge speech about people who were there 10+ years… Then he started announcing people there 5+ years… and I was like, when is he going to get to me… and he never did! At least a few of the staff came up to me and recognized my seniority.

I’ve come to realize that there’s some very attractive women working for the station, very possibly single. I need to rethink my ideas of dating in the workplace. My dating life should be more important than a part time/weekend job.

What do you get when you combine a large projection screen, some baloons, a radio controlled blimp, lots of alcohol, enough steak, chicken and hot dogs to make you sick and 48 hours of planning? You get another great New Years party thrown by me!

With 2 days to the new year, I decided to throw a last minute gathering and as usual, I was successfull. Starting with about 4 people confirmed, we managed to fill the house with approximately 15 people all toasting away 2005 and welcoming 2006!

As my first LJ post this year, I would like to take a moment and wish all of you (my readers) witha a happy and healthy new year!

A bit of upsetting news, Actor Pat Morita, 73 years old, passed away this Thanksgiving. Article on Yahoo:

So I got to experience my first Black Friday today. Even when I worked at Wal-Mart, somehow I managed to escape the craziness of the major shopping day after Thanksgiving.

I left work about 11:15 and headed home to gather some much needed supplies. I grabbed a hat, some gloves, and even a second jacket. I dropped my brother off at a friend’s and headed out to pick up . We headed out to Best Buy to partake in their awesome sales. Amazingly, there were people camped out there since around 7:30 PM, and we got there at midnight… for a store that would open at 5AM!

So after 4 hours in the freezing cold, we finally got in. Dave got shafted and despite our attempt to line up 4 hours before opening, they ran out of Laptop Computers by the time they got to us in line. I was more fortunate. I managed to get everything I needed, and then some.

I got a 512 MB CompactFlash card for my camera, two 1 GB thumb drives, a keyboard and a 24′ Television for my new home.
