I left work at 11:15 tonght and flew at a not-so-cop-friendly pace to Home Depot which closes at midnight! I picked up the supplies I would need to begin painting tomorrow. I need to be there early because my bed will be delivered between 8 AM and 12 noon. That’s great and sucks at the same time (I don’t know how to trick my body into falling asleep before 3AM!)

I figure I’ll head out to the place early and then start spackling and painting… My hope is to finish the bedroom tonight and maybe learn how to do a color wash, which I want to do in the kitchen. I may take the cheap way out and just sponge it 😉 We’ll see.

I need to bring my laptop, a phone and a TV with me as the cable guy is coming in the afternoon to set up my Cable TV, Internet Service and VOIP Phone. I recommend anybody moving out for the first time to get a job at the local cable company so they can hook you up with all these great necessities at little or no cost 😉 Worked for me…

The new number is kind of shitty. Has 2 1’s in it… Doesn’t spell anything great.. Has “Jews” in it and being one, I guess this is somehow appropriate. Not as cool as my current number which has “SEX” in it. Too bad it’s in a different area then the one I’m moving to. It’d be great to keep the number.

Well, I have work to do. Have to gather my appliances 🙂

The past 2 days I’ve been thinking a lot about how to paint the apartment. I wanted something bold, and unique. Something unusual, and I think I came up with some “out there” yet still tastefull solutions…

I downloaded the Benjamin Moore Personal Color Viewer software that allows you to set masks (different areas) on an image and easily apply various different colors to the walls, trim, cabinets, etc… (Check out there free version at www.benjaminmoore.com)

I decided to go with a 2-tone blue for my Kitchen, and yellow and red for my bedroom. The livingroom is already deep red-orange. Below the cut is the pictures I generated from Personal Color Viewer.

The morning began with my friend from Florida Waking me up. We made plans to meet at the diner. I made a few phonecalls and arranged a walk-through of the place. Unfortunately, the power had been “shut off” when they moved out, so I couldn’t check any of the appliances. Oh well, what could I do.

So we went to the co-op’s office and sat in the brand new, just built, never used conference room. We all sat around the large wooden conference table signing papers and passing checks back and forth. All went well, in fact, I actually got money back. After 2 hours or so, we all shook hands, and left. The deed was done.

I am a homeowner now.

My father hadn’t seen the place yet, so we took a ride out there. Checking out the storage/electric room, we found the electric off. Just for shits and giggles, we pressed the ON button and headed up to the place and sure enough, the power came right on! So we checked all the appliances, air conditioners, etc… All in working order!

Tomorrow starts the joys of planning, painting, shopping , etc…
