Packing for the trip!

Posted on April 22, 2004 by jaypoc

When I go away for 2 or 3 days, I have a tendancy to overpack… I mean EVERYTHING…. Too much clothes, Too many “Gadgets” and “Gizmos”….. Now, this is the first time I’m going away for 7 days…. I feel like I need a small jet just to carry all my stuff. 🙂 What should I be without?

I need clothes….7 T-Shirts, 7 Dress Shirts, 7 pairs of Jeans, 7 Slacks, do I want closer to 7 pairs of underwear or 14? 🙂 Do I own 14 pairs of underwear? I usually have to do a wash every week and a half. I’m sure I have 10 pairs, but is that enough? It’s hot down there. My balls may sweat a lot. rofl….

What about gadgets? Computer(s?), Electronic Toys, Cameras, What to bring?

Can’t bring “The Hammer”…. a.k.a. the ($1000) camcorder that I tripped over and smashed into the ground lens first cracking the lens, and the casing! (Damnit!!!!!!)

What movies should I bring? What books….

Sooo much packing to do and certainly NOT enough time!

Tomorrow’s a busy day! 1. Filling out paperwork for my new job. 2. Working for KJOY. 3. Last minute emergency shopping for stuff I couldn’t find in the laundry or just got too lazy. 4. If I have time, ,bringing in my camcorder for repair.

When do I pack? When do I prepare? When do I sleep!!!!!!!!!

Your going on a cruise right? Your gonna have a blast. This is the first year that I am not going to Bermuda 🙁 Your gonna have a blast on the boat. There are tons of stuff you can do, so you don’t NEED that many gadgets. Definately your camera, but they are always showing movies & stuff so you don’t need anything like that.

I would definately bring more underwear than just 7. 14 would be perfect if you have them since you’ll be out all day & then the nightlife starts. You didn’t mention shorts? Your not a short person? I wouldn’t bring 7 dress slacks, you can get away with wearing the same pair again. Maybe like 3. You want to make sure you have a NICE outfit as they have a ‘formal’ night where they take lots of pictures.

My first year I got bogged down with all the stuff that I brought. I didn’t even use a lot of it. I would pack empty bags if you have them as well, cause you are gonna pick up souviners. Oh also important… if you have any medicine, they need to be in their original bottles with YOUR name on them. My dad had his pills in a weekly container thing & they took them away from him. It was bad.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh no… I need my gadgets! It’s always an adventure going through the checkpoint at the airport…. I carry more electronics on me than air traffic control.

The rest of the stuff will be fine… You know if there’s laundry facilities on these cruise boats? It’d be easier to have a laundry night than to bring 16 suitcases of clothes… and yea, I own 2 pairs of shorts which I’ll bring with me. lol

wooow i’m jealous i wanna go!! hahha
yea definitely don’t bring like 7 dress shirts and pants, def wear the same couple shirts. even jeans or whatever, u don’t really need seven. i went away for three weeks and was good with seven of everything (but it was winter and we were bundled up anyway).
but since it’s warm, then shirts and stuff are lighter and take up less space, so you can roll stuff up and fit more.

hahah i’m bad at packing too but thats what i’ve learned heheh. i always forget something and bring too many of something i don’t need.

and just def bring like a camera or whatever, u prob won’t need a computer on a cruise.

    have fun!! =)

I hear you about gadgets, I had a hard time leaving mine at home, but after a day of hard withdrawl I was fine. Yes they have laundry services on the boat. Your leaving like tommorrow huh?
Oh try to stay away from the highway robbery internet access on the boat. But the last day thye usually have a special price. Last year I was contemplating spending $32 for 15 minutes. So not worth it.
    Have a great time.

lol. I’m considering it myself.. We’ll see… Hopefully I’ll find plenty more to do 🙂

Yep. Car is coming to take us to the airport at 4:45 AM (Yes, it’s almost midnight!) I gotta go get a few hours of sleep. I’m exhausted 🙂
