Just because the world is about to end, doesn’t mean you can’t hop aboard a Vogon ship to escape impending doom. At least thats how it all began in Douglas Adam’s Hichhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy…
I went out after work with a few of my coworkers to check out the film opening night! The movie kicked ass. For anybody who’s a fan of the books or the 1981 BBC series, you won’t be dissapointed… Interesting note, “Marvin the paranoid android” from the TV series had a cameo in the movie. It was a lot of fun, and definitely one of the Must-See movies for any fan.
Next up… Star Wars… The 6th movie….er..3rd movie…er..3rd episode…. 
All jokes put aside, it looks great from the trailer. I’m looking foward to it!

Okay, Maybe I should clarify I wasn’t actually M.C.ing a Karaoke night at Dunkin’ Donuts. I brought the laptop to help a friend out with his website/Interactive Resume. After finishing that up, we started going through the utter random stuff I have on this laptop, including 11 Gigs of Karaoke hits, so we sat there looking for and playing (and singing along with) various songs.
It’s been quite a musical weekend. Tonight, Karaoke… Last night Drum and Guitar playing and singalongs until they kicked us out of the bar (literally!)…Wonder what will happen tomorrow, as I’m meeting up with an old friend (if she isn’t asleep when I get outta work) to hang for a bit.

Only I would go to Dunkin’ Donuts with a laptop loaded with 3000 Karaoke songs and sit there taking requests for people to sing along!

It’s all over. Another year of I-Con! I had a lot of fun this year. Though I do have to say that ICON is progressively getting worse and worse. They seem to be swerving away from Science Fiction and Fandom that built the convention 24 years ago, and seem to br introducing more and more Anime. My prediction is by ICON 30, it will be more of an Anime-CON than anything else….
Also, My voice is still fucked up. lol…
With all this you’d think the time sucked, but the few panels and events of interest that I did attend were fun and the people there are always cool. I still managed to have a good time. It was great running into all my old friends who I dont get to see that often anymore.
Now I wait for I-Con 25!

It’s almost 5AM! I have to be up at 9AM! I JUST got home from Day 2 of ICON. This was a first for me. I headed out to the official Hotel of the Con after the con-events themselves. The funny thing is I went to hang out with Laura and couldn’t get in touch with her at all. Hung with everyone else in the bar, just hangin’ out. Carmine taught me some beats on the Dumbek as Vince played the guitar. Wish I could sing along, but my voice is shot. Dunno why either, I woke up kinda congested and towards the end of the day, I could barely talk. Of course that didn’t stop me from blabbing on as usual
Anyways, It’s starting to come back. I’ve made it a point not to speak as much as possible for the past few hours. I dont think ANYBODY has seen me THIS quiet in a while!

Tonight was the first night of ICON, The northeast’s largest convention of Science Fiction, Fact and Fantasy! I worked all week (and even made a run to Home Depot at 12 Midnight last night) to finish the Helmet of my Spaceball costume… It was well worth it. Even with some of the defects in the helmet (I couldn’t get it as smooth/glossy as I wanted) it was a hit. I must have taken a picture with just about everyone there, including one kid who thought I was a character from Hitchhiker’s Guide (Not everyone there is an 80′s sci-fi spoof fan).
It was such a hit I am going to bring the costume with me to the Costume Ball tomorrow night if I can get to it in time, or if my friend’s party doesn’t run alongside it.
During the day tomorrow, I think I’m just going to play photographer and get pictures of everyone in their costumes and the different events going on. It will be a lot of fun (as usual!)

I started work at the new place today (Same Company, Same Job, New Location) and things went about as smooth as 100 grit snadpaper I spent most of my shift waiting for our IT department to get the Internet connection up and running. Yes, I spent over 3 hours doing absolutely nothing (Because I couldn’t). The computers they have me on are running Windows NT 4 (not fun considering I came from a call center full of P4′s running XP)… It’s pretty cool though. I do (I hope) have my own cubicle (at least until they send more people over). I’ll find out tomorrow if all my stuff is left as is or is all moved around 
The chairs there kick ass… They look like cheap office chairs, but every piece of them can adjust, tilt or slide into just the right position!
