Wal-Mart (There IS a hell. It’s on earth and I work there) has some pretty good sales now and then. The company is clearing out a LOT of old (good) merchandise… I picked up a Karaoke machine for $20 (It’s $10 now so I may try to get a price adjustment)… Its got the video out and 2 mics and all so it’s pretty cool!

Mom won’t let me keep it in my room though.. She wants to play with it also. lol. She was having a ball yesterday with it, :) We’re going out shopping and stuff tomorrow so we’re gonna pick up some Karaoke CDs

I don’t feel older. But I am… 27 now.. sheesh! I still remember turning 21 and being dissapointed that the guy at 7-11 didn’t ID me. I still have the first bottle of beer I bought legally. Thats kind of nasty if you think about it. Does beer age well? It’s 6 years old so far.

Just got back from dinner with Mom, Dad, Mike and my cousin andrew… Went to East, the chinese buffet in Huntington. Probably the last good chinese buffer around.

    Had a good time.

Every year, around my birthday, I hold a huge celebration which I have named, JaypoCON. It started in 2000 when I invited a large group of my friends over the house and out to dinner. JaypoCON events have had over 50 attendees at times and are always great fun!

This year, we headed to Medieval Times in Lindhurst, New Jersey.

The evening started out with everyone meeting at my house for cocktail weenies, drinks, and just casual hanging out and chatting. I hadn’t made prior reservations for Medieval Times because we still didn’t know for sure how many people were coming. At the “reception” I collected money from people and made the reservation for Eleven people. A small group, but understandable seeing that it was $50 per person to go.

We hopped into 2 cars and headed to Jersey…. Traffic wasn’t all that bad. It took us just under 2 hours to get there.

Medieval Times sells Bunratty Mead so Dave and me got a bottle…. I drank about half the bottle, then during the tournament got another bottle for myself… Over all, I probably drank one and a half bottles of Mead all by myself. Woohoo! :)

Of course, what are friends for, except to try to Humiliate you… They brought me back to wait for the king to arrive, and sure enough, the first name they called was my own. I was to be Knighted. You may call me, Sir AJypoc from now on!

Dinner was cool.. Soup in a crock with a handle… no silverware. Chicken, Ribs, Potato all served on a pewter plate and of course, it’s ALL finger-food… There was no silverware in medieval times, hence there IS no silverware AT Medieval Times. Finished off with the Pastry of the Castle, an apple-pie-type-thingy.

Our knight was the Green Knight! He lost, though he outlasted all the other knights except the winner. We think he was gay. Maybe not… he didn’t throw the rose to Carmine or myself. Both who were waving to him to. lol

Medieval Times was a lot of fun. I got a “Birthday King” crown, Photo of myself being Knighted, a wooden sword, a Medieval Times shot glass for my collection and we even found a green banner on one of the tables that someone left behind.

We headed back to Long Island and made a pit stop at my house… We met up with Jen and Charlie again (who chose not to go to Medieval Times) and went to a small bar in Old Bethpage. So small it doesn’t even have a name… Well, okay.. It does have a name, but I don’t remember it.

We hung out there all night. Drinking, Dancing playing Darts and playing pool…. More people showed up for the bar and everyone had a great night!

    JaypoCON V was a success… as usual…

next year, who knows.. Maybe Atlantic City.

See pictures from JaypoCON 2004 at my web site.

Exciting! Tomorrow is the fifth annual JaypoCON… yes, JaypoCON 2004!

We’ll be meeting at my place at 2:00 PM and hopefully if all works out we’ll head over to Medieval Times in New Jersey to catch a show at 7-ish….

If things dont work out, we’ll be drinkin’ and eatin’ near home. lol.

My heart was beating faster as they called me up to the jurors box. This was it. The moment when they decided whether or not to pick me as part of the Jury for a murder case.

They were especially interested in the fact that I had been to the crime scene in the immediate present. Would the fact that I had familiarity with the area taint my judgement or would it prove to be a valuable assett to determining the truth?

Watching the court stenographer (? The woman who types everything) I wondered about the “typewriter” that she used. It didn’t seem as if she was actually typing very fast at all. Could it be a shorthand typewriter?

Could I give a fair trial…. The question kept popping up. While I know that I most certainly could I tried to hesitate to answer. I would look 100% at the facts and make my decision based on that…. It’s just the type of person I am. I don’t judge people until I see the facts… Ask some of my friends. Many of them don’t get along with eachother, yet I maintain my friendships with both sides. I don’t make my own judgements based on heresay.

If chosen for the trial, I would certainly do my best to represent the truth… for either the plaintiff of the defendant…..

So, it came down to a moment of conspiracy between the judge, the lawyers and the courtroom staff… Today seemed longer than yesterday. yesterday they kept 4 of the 12 jurors selected to go up on the stand….. Today I sat there. Awaiting the court’s decision…..

I thought I heard the judge say “6″… Could half of us have been selected?
“If we do not call your name, you may leave…. The following people have been chosen…………”

    Happy Me! Happy Me!

It’s a good time! Some likes the 80′s (Yes, I did).. Some liked the 70′s (not so much) but I like the now….

I’m sitting in a Starbucks, drinking my coffee, eating a Bagel from Bagel Boss. I’m on my lunch break from Jury Duty..

Im gonna be questioned about 2PM for a murder case… I can’t say anything more about it, but I dunno if I want to do it or not :) I was hoping to be in and out of court today, however I’m also intrigued… This is a once in a lifetime (or at least once every four years) experience. They say the trial wont begin until Feb. so I won’t miss my birthday in the event that it lingers on… definitely a plus…

In the meantime, I sit here eating my Egg Salad sandwich listening to the the commedians to my left goofing cuz they see a guy (me) on a computer and some chick seemingly on a date or with her therapist… Not sure… he’s asking very personal things about her past but he doesn’t seem to know her.. almost like they’re just meeting now or only spoke a few times in the past, Who knows….

    I made a new friend tonight (I hope)…

I started talking to a girl from a neighboring town online… We only spoke a few times, but were both bored and decided to meet IRL.. That’s In Real Life in case you didn’t catch it.

We met at Krispy Kreme… She’s not a coffee drinker (nor a donut eater) so I just ordered a large cup-o-joe… We sat down and though it was awkward we talked for a bit. About nothing and about everything…Pets, Jobs, Work, Future, etc…

The first thing I noticed were her eyes… Beautiful deep brown eyes looking into mine. I’m usually good at reading people, but I couldn’t really tell what was on her mind. She did mention that it was later than she thought and she should go, but when I was ready to call it a night she stopped me and said she’d stick around a little longer.

At first I thought it was an excuse to leave, but saying that she’d stay I also gathered that she was being genuine, and just had to work in the morning as she said. At least I hope she wasn’t just being rude.

I’d like to see her again. Maybe go out and do something together so that we can actually interact on a more relaxed level then sitting down interviewing eachother :)

I could see us becoming friends. I don’t know about much more than that at this point, but who knows.
