Just got back from “The Rock”. No, not the wrestler/actor… Alcatraz, The prison.
It was incredible. Aside from being so impressive as a prison, it’s vissually stunning with flowering gardens blooming within building ruins.
Very dissapointed that we won’t get to the Winchester Mystery House, but there’s lots more fun ahead.
So far, San Francisco is great. Our flight got in on time (Around 1:00 California time). We walked around the Fisherman’s Wharf (What’s a wharf anyways?) and got to check out some really old ships. Kind of felt like being on a pirate ship.
Our hotel is just a few blocks from everything so there’s no need fgr a rental car or cabs.
There’s so much to see and do. It seems like every time we traverse down another block, we find another hour’s worth of things to do.
Hmmm…. Gotta find some Rice-A-Roni
I leave in 15 minutes. Off to San Francisco. My only regret is that I don’t have a working battery for my laptop, so I’m gonna have to go un-tech this trip. I downloaded the recent content from AvantGo for my Palm and I’ll pick up a magazine or 2 at the airport. That should keep me busy for the flight.
It’s about time I had a vacation!
My girlfried won a trip to San Francisco from her old job, so we’re leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to catch an 8am flight!! Im excited….
On a sad note, amigoingdown.com is no longer in operation….
On a sadder note, I left my paycheck in my back pants pocket when I did my laundry for the trip.
