One word…. Wardriving!

Okay, may words actually… Wireless, 802.11b, COOL! and that’s just a few of them. I’ve recently purchased an ORiNOCO Silver wireless PC card for my laptop. Since I don’t yet have an access point (AP) in my house, I decided to spend a few hours driving around my neighborhood…. I found numerous AP’s open to anybody who happens to be with in range.

IN LAYMANS TERMS: I drive up to a building (coffee house, cyber-cafe, someones house) and poof! I can surf the internet from my car!

I wonder if there’s anyone else in NY who’d like to exchange Access Points with me, or perhaps discuss upcoming coverage projects. I know of a few people trying to cover local recreational parks.

ACK! I have a customer who I’ve done some consulting and PC training for. They called me up for technical support today!!!

They wanted to get to WWW.PRUDENTIAL.COM

THATS IT! They needed me to walk them through opening internet explorer… and typing “www.prudential.com” and pressing enter! They have a cablemodem so they dont even need to dial up!

Okay, Here’s an interesting one… .Was just IM’d by another one of those SPAM I.M.s promoting some chicks porn site, but this one is good…. Rather than just sending me a URL, it’s having a conversation with me….. It actually started out like a person random IMing me. I got suspicious when it didn’t answer me directly. Now, I’m answering everything it says with three or four periods and it’s still going I’ll try to save the chat log and post it later Lets see how long it’ll go on.

And if anyone knows where I can get a chat bot for AIM (to automate myself while I’m actually away (for humor purposes) please let me know. I’m hoping the guy running this eventually messages me with the info.

LOL. While typing this he was banned (Warned up to 95%) lol. I just bumped him up to 100%…. Too bad… was amusing me. Basically it posted the URL of a porn site then continued to talk to me, asking if I wanted to cyber… and when I said no, said good and went on…and on….and on. Until it was banned.

When it comes to cleaning my room, most of you know by now that it’s a week-long (or more) process…. Well, I’ve begun again The computer desk is clean again!

Saw a great musician tonight at a local bar…. His name is Gerald Bair… Is an old friend of a coworker of mine so we headed down and checked him out. I was quite impressed by his guitar playing skills…. It’s been something I’ve wanted to learn, but just never got the time or motivation…. Not to mention a guitar

Disappointed that none of the pictures came out at all…. It really sucks. Next time, I may invest in a better shitty camera

I did get to see a preview of the movie Reign of Fire…. Takes place in 2020 when Dragons have re-emerged from a age-long sleep and have caused destruction and chaos over the earth. The story is about the struggle faced trying to defend their own and their families lives from the dragons.

The story was pretty good and the visual effects were outstanding. Mad props to the CG team, and if they read this and could render me running from the dragon and getting eaten I would be most appreciative as that would be so cool hehe

1 Hour to go!

I brought a camera with me to the show last night. Figuring I *MIGHT* get caught with it and have it confiscated, I went to the dollar-store and bought a $1 35 mm camera and a $1 roll of film (Yes, a *disposable* camera for $2.14..hehe)….. After being frisked by the security guard and admitting I had a camera on me, the guard surprisingly allowed me to take the camera in. I guess he saw where my seats were and figured that I wouldn’t get anything at all (which I wouldn’t have from where the seats were!)

Fortunately, Poison allowed their fans to come up closer towards the stage. Since I had already crept my way into the orchestra seating area, I was able to get right up to the stage… Yes, folks, I was about 5 feet from the stage itself, almost perfect distance to take pictures with a disposable camera (What a coincidence heehee)

Well, in 1 hour I’m running back to the photo lab to check on my pictures…..Wish me luck. I’ll post what I get (if I get anything)….

… For $2.14 I hope I get at least one good pic. It’ll totally make my day!! (week? month? maybe even year!)

It’s not that often that I post my personal feelings on here, so I think I’ll offer you people a follow-up…. I think my depression last night was brought on by my jealousy, however it was just the tip of the iceberg. There were a lot of other factors leading up to that event finishing with me not seeing Tracey for about a week and feeling let-down due to misunderstandings we’ve had recently. After talking things over with her, I felt a lot better and wound up staying the night with her. I feel a lot better today!

Just got back from the Poison concert! Great show…

Tracey had gotten passes to go backstage (yes I’m EXTREMELY jealous) with a friend of hers, and of course, she couldn’t get me a pass, so my only option was to go and hang out alone the whole show while she was backstage….

Fortunately for me, my boss at Island 94.3, one of the radio stations I work for was able to hook me up. I got 2 passes and went with my friend Matt…….

The show was great, but I can’t help feel a sense of disappointment, not with Poison, but with Tracey.

I don’t know if I am just jealous of Tracey for going backstage, something I’ve wanted to do my whole life, or if I feel neglected by going to the concert, with her spending most of the time backstage (which I shouldn’t feel cuz I only went cuz she was and I knew then that she was going to be backstage with her friend)…. I know I feel a bit left out because after talking to her on the phone now, she told me that her and her friend were going to go see the show in NJ next weekend without even a mention of inviting me….. I always of saw the 80′s rock bands as something we had in common, granted, something she was way more into that me, but something we could share but I kind of feel more like I’m sticking myself in her business or just trying to associate myself with something she likes and wants to do on her own, when I just want to be able to share this experience with someone I love.

The reason I haven’t gone to many concerts is because I didn’t have someone like this or even a group of people like this anymore. I always love going to clubs/concerts but when the people that were closest to me stopped going, so did I. I always went when I had a girlfriend or a close group of friends who were into it but rarely enjoy these things alone. Maybe because I’m shy socally and find it difficult to speak with or get along with general fans of the venue I’m attending…..

I guess I kind of feel cheated that I don’t have someone to share most of the things I love most with.

Just my thoughts tonight….
